Ana Luísa Oliveira
Auxiliary Researcher
Ana Rita Bezerra graduated in Biology (University of Aveiro) and obtained her PhD in Biology - specialization of Molecular Biology and Genetics – from the same institution.
Currently, she is an Assistant Researcher at iBiMED-UA where she develops her research in the medical mycology field. Her research interests are focused on the dissection of fungal-host interactions, molecular understanding of antifungal tolerance and resistance as well as mapping the genetic architecture of drug resistance from clinical fungal samples. She is also interested in finding new biomarkers of resistance for optimization of antifungal therapies and diagnostics. To do so, she takes an interdisciplinary approach using microbiology, molecular and cell biology methodologies combined with genetics, genomics, and bioinformatics.
