
João Lindo Simões
Assistant Professor
João Lindo Simões is a nurse since 1997. He did his Master’s in Supervision at the University of Aveiro, Portugal in 2004 and his PhD in Health and Technologies Sciences at the same University, in 2011. Currently is an Associate Professor at School of Health Sciences (ESSUA) and a research member of the Institute of Biomedicine, University of Aveiro, Portugal. Currently he is Director of the Master's Degrees Courses in Medical-Surgical Nursing (in the areas of nursing for patients in critical and chronic situations) and member of the Executive Committee of ESSUA.
The main research interests are related to: “Nursing Care in Care Units for People in Critical Situations”, “Caring for People with Chronic or Traumatic Wounds and their significant caregivers”, “Development, application and evaluation of new learning methodologies in teaching in the health area”, “Augmentative and alternative communication in people with changes in consciousness” and “Nursing Care for People in a Perioperative Situation”.
