Margarida Fardilha

Margarida Fardilha did her degree in Biochemistry in 1996 at the University of Porto. After she attended the curricular year of the Doctoral Program in Biology and Medicine at ICG, Lisbon. During her doctoral work (1998-2004), developed in the Department of Biology at the University of Aveiro (UA), she studied protein complexes involved in the regulation of sperm function using the yeast two hybrid system (Y2H).

During her career she has been teaching courses related to biochemistry, molecular biology, molecular biomedicine, genetics in both undergraduate and graduate levels. She was the director of the BSc in Biomedical Sciences (Jan 2012 to Oct 2018) and member of the executive committee of the DCM, UA (Oct 2018 to Jul 2019). Margarida completed the Habilitation in Biomedicine in 2018 at the UA. Currently, Margarida Fardilha is Assistant Professor with Habilitation at the Department of Medical Sciences from UA and the coordinator of the Fardilhas’ Lab at the Institute of Biomedicine (iBiMED), UA. Margarida Fardilha has been involved in many research projects as PI and has graduated 36 master and 8 PhD students.
