
Mário Lopes
Assistant Professor
Mário Lopes holds a degree in Physical Therapy from the Coimbra Health School of the Polytechnic Institute of Coimbra, a master’s degree in Higher Education Policy and Management from the Department of Social, Political and Territorial Sciences of the University of Aveiro and a PhD in Physiotherapy from the Faculty of Sport, University of Porto.
He is an Adjunct Professor at the School of Health Sciences, having supervised several Licentiate degree projects and master’s degree theses and is presently Advisor of PhD Degree students, at the Department of Medical Sciences, University of Aveiro, Portugal. As a researcher, his interests aim the understanding of the determinants of sports injury and the search of solutions to reduce injury risk in sport to enhance the positive benefits of sport participation.
