Diogo Trigo

Auxiliary Researcher

Diogo Trigo completed his doctorate in Neurology in at University College London, followed by a postdoctoral position at King’s College London. Diogo joined DCM/iBiMED in 2017 and has, since 2021, a CEEC Assistant Researcher position.

His research is focused on studying molecular mechanisms of neuronal degeneration and regeneration, with a specific interest on metabolic and mitochondrial function. His work, funded by top agencies such as FCT, La Caixa Foundation, EIT, or the European Commission, aims to expand the state-of-the-art but also has a translational aim, particularly in the field of neurodegenerative disorders and spinal cord injury.
